A Cry to Heaven

By Wanda J. Roe, AR © Wandaroe.roe@gmail.com

Blood dripped from the cross

and the seas ran red.

Smoke boiled from the earth

and the sky turned black.

Nails split the tortured wood

and the heart broke in half.

Thorns pierced the fevered brow

and the Soul cried to Heaven.

A flower bloomed on Easter day

and it was called, "Forget Me Not".

       EASTER HEADLINE

The  reporter struggled to convey

The event he witnessed.

The poet labored to portray

The heartbreaking scene.

Their efforts were futile

All they needed were two words.

He Arose!
