Reflections:  DKG, My New Family

By Ronnelle Turner Donahue, DC © ronnelle.turner@dc.gov

Blood brothers

I have none

Blood sisters

Zero is the sum.

Work

Church

Extended family

And friends,

Somehow

Through it all

Still on the outside

Looking in.

That’s fine with me

I like it like that

Drama free

And that’s a fact.

Then one day

I make a friend

One invitation

No longer looking in.

Fellowship

Networking

Outreach

And more

Experience

Best Practices

Educators to the core!

I visit the home of a new colleague

Two more have come to my school

Soon, my educator sisters will come to my house

Why?

To analyze test scores!

I love my DKG family

More than they will ever know

They are key women educators

Leading the way for others to grow.

I know my mother watches over me

She was a strong educator too!

Creative

Intelligent

And caring

Wow!

That sounds like you!!

DKG

An organization

A sisterhood

For one to learn and grow

Professionally

Personally

Now on the inside looking out

DKG Nu State,

I love you so!
